Our Structure

The AGM

The Annual General meeting is held in December and is considered to be the highest structure within the organization because fellow members determine the organization’s objectives and plans. Every member is encouraged to attend this AGM and is free to raise discussions.

In the AGM the executive reads out the Annual Administrative report of the previous year together with the Financial Statement. Afterwards the members are free to approve or disapprove of the work plans and reports conducted and executed by the executive and committees.

During the AGM the board of vigilance and the organization’s lawyer and internal auditor are also appointed and the members may have to take a vote if there are any amendments to the statute.  The members present would have to vote for fellow students to be part of the new executive and after the counts are finished the new executive members are elected. Any student may contest the election for a post in the executive as long as he or she is a member. The President concludes the AGM by addressing the members.

The EGM

The Extraordinary General Meeting is held when deemed necessary by the executive. Such cases include the election of a new President and other administrative posts, together with any changes regarding PULSE’s identity.

Branches

The JC subcommittee, UOM subcommittee and the National subcommittee are all branches of PULSE that work within the organization’s structure.

PULSE JC

The JC branch was established in 2001.  PULSE JC sub-committee   organizes activities. Throughout the years PULSE has successfully contested the KSJC elections, which elections see the direct participation of our JC members. This sub committee is composed of 5 PULSE members and organizes a weekly meeting for all JC students.

PULSE UoM

The UOM branch was established in 1997 after PULSE was officially recognized by the UOM senate. This branch caters for the UOM students’ needs in order to assist them in their studies. PULSE UOM representatives actively participate in the KPS meetings organized by KSU and PULSE members are active in several sub-committees commissioned by KSU.

PULSE National

The National sub-committee establishes, coordinates and executes the organization’s policies and stands. The national sub-committee is composed of UOM and JC students who freely discuss and debate upon several issues and topics. Afterwards a policy paper is drawn up and presented to the executive for their final approval. The members of this sub-committee have organized several day seminars dealing with students-related matters and had also commissioned a report regarding the main political party electoral manifestoes for 2008.
